Biography
Jose Alves dos Santos Neto is a Brazilian head coach from Itapetininga with a championship record across Brazil, Japan, Angola and Mongolia. His career includes head coaching roles with Paulistano, Joinville, Flamengo, Levanga Hokkaido, Atletico Petroleos de Luanda, IHC Apes and Selenge Bodons Sukhbaatar, as well as national team work. His resume includes Brazilian League titles with Flamengo, Liga Americas and InterContinental Cup achievements, Angolan League success, a Basketball Africa League title and Mongolian Cup recognition.
In addition to club success, he has led both men’s and women’s national basketball teams in major international tournaments. His international experience includes winning the FIBA Women’s AmeriCup Mexico 2023 with the Brazilian Women’s National Team, participating in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games with the Brazilian Men’s National Team, the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Spain, and the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada. A highly experienced head coach, Jose Alves has worked at the highest levels of international basketball competition.
